On June 26, 2021, the Gala presentation "The boys of the band" took place at the Pablo Ruíz Picasso Cultural Center.
The play revolves around a group of gay friends getting together for a birthday party in New York City, which was groundbreaking for depicting gay life in the theater and before the Stonewall riots and the great raid of the Begoña Passage.
It has been said that it was "a true change in the world of theater, as it helped to unleash a revolution by putting homosexuals on stage, without apologizing or judging them, in a world that was not yet at all willing to accept them".
