The past days, June 3, 10, 17 and 24, 2021, the sessions of the Pedro Ramos Literary Club took place, which include reading and writing workshop and in which the participants deepen their creative process by learning and practicing techniques of writings, carrying out short stories, thus taking advantage of acquired knowledge, in addition to increasing their critical capacity in an environment that encourages literary dialogue.
-Session of June 3: This session was face-to-face, although there was the possibility of participating online for those who could not be present. In it, the participants of the club have spoken about what they thought of Belén Rubiano's intervention last Thursday, and also commented on the exercise that Pedro Ramos sent them for that day on the style of this writer.
-Session of June 10: This time the participation was online, through Google Meet and the club participants had to decide if next Thursday they would attend the club in person and having the session as always, or they would all attend, together with Pedro Ramos, to the talk by Jesús Carrasco, author of "Take me home", his latest book, at the Malaga Contemporary Art Center (CAC). After talking and debating it, and not getting a unanimous yes, they decided that the following Thursday they would have their club session as usual. That is why, on this occasion, the topic they have discussed has been the one that was planned from the first moment, the creation of characters in a novel or story. Pedro provided them with some files, for this, through Classroom, and explained how the characters are created, especially the protagonists.
The task for next week would be to make the file of the main character, the protagonist, and create it.
-Session of June 17: This session was face-to-face, although there was the possibility of participating online for those who could not be present, in it, the participants of the club each read their file of the main character they had to to do for this day, as Pedro Ramos asked them in the session of the previous week, in order to be able to see among all the work of each one and tell them Pedro what they should modify or correct.
-Session of June 24: This time the participation was on-line, through Google Meet, and with a visiting professor.
This was the last session of the term and of the season, which had as a guest teacher the writer of children's and youth novel Santiago García-Clairac, known for being the author of the fantasy trilogy "The Black Army" and for obtaining in the year 2004 the Cervantes Chico Award.
Santiago told the club members how he went from the world of advertising, work for which he received several awards and recognitions, to the world of children's and youth literature, how he began to write, his books, his work, etc. He also spoke to them in a summarized way about how, in his opinion, this type of literature has changed over the years, mentioning different titles and various authors of this genre.
But if something surprised some of the people who participated in the session, it was to know that their son is Roberto Santiago, film director, screenwriter, playwright, Spanish writer and author of one of the best known sagas today, "Los Futbolísimos", also note that father and son wrote in 2014 the youth novel "Under the fire of bullets I will think of you."
